Music

Mrs Andrea Crump

Music is a wonderful, unique form of communication and being involved with children’s musical development is exciting and fulfilling.

Years 4/5 & 6 Choir will meet every Wednesday throughout the term – with many special events planned i.e. Harvest, Christmas and Easter, plus a national ‘Song for Peace’ and coffee morning for MacMillan Nurses.

Years 2 & 3 Choir is run by Mrs Alker and they meet every Friday after school.
Music is planned throughout the school, with basic skills taught through ‘Music Express’ scheme. With emphasis now on cross curricular topics – a wider variety of music is now being introduced to link with the new rolling programmes.

‘Wider Opportunities’ Music scheme continues to run for Years 3 and 4. Yr 4 children have the opportunity to learn violin with Mrs Griffin, and recorder with Mrs Sage. There are also recorder clubs for pupils who wish to learn to play and perform really well.

KS1 and KS2 Hymn practices are held weekly linking with collective worship, church assemblies and church festivals.
